Emergency Management Training


Offshore Installation Manager Coaching and Assessment

Course Aim:
To provide persons with responsibility for managing and controlling emergencies an opportunity to practice such operations and processes in a controlled manner. The training will expose candidates to emergency scenarios that can be designed around their actual installations operation and Emergency Response Procedures.

The final 2 days of the program will allow for 2 OIM's to be assessed against the OPITO “Controlling Emergencies” standard.

Course content:
At the end of the course, delegates will be able to:
Demonstrate an improved understanding of the relevant OPITO standard, particularly in the areas of:
• Planning
• Assertiveness
• Options on available resources
• Validation of data
• Public Address
• Use of Drawings
• Communication with Agencies
• Escape routes
• Boundaries
• Escalation
• Shutdown facilities

Procedures
Training staff will be:
E Trained in instructional / lecture techniques and or have proven instructing / teaching experience i ncluding an ongoing training programme

Assessors will be:
E Discipline experts and will hold a recognised national assessor award (E.g. D 32, A units or equivalent)
E Knowledgeable of the areas being assessed.
